Overview The Practicum in Clinical Allergy is designed to offer medical professionals a practical overview of current diagnosis and management of major clinical allergic disease - including allergic rhinitis, asthma, as well as food and drug allergy. Encapsulated seminars, coupled with small group discussions aim to deliver content in a readily digestible format over the one-and-a-half day program. A limit of 20 participants allows direct access to the specialist faculty, and facilitated groups can draw on cases submitted by participants for discussion.
Course Objectives Provides an up-to-date overview and understanding of major clinical allergic conditions. Facilitating and re-enforcing specific clinical thinking via case discussion and activities. Engender confidence in management approach for allergic patients.
Learning Outcomes Identify and have a practical working knowledge of major allergic conditions. Appreciate the important aspect of history and diagnostic testing in an allergic context. Understand and safely supervise specific allergen immunotherapy. Apply best practice management to major allergic conditions. Correctly institute safe and effective management for emergent life-threatening allergic conditions.

Entry Requirements
  1. Medical degree with current clinical registration in good standing.
  2. The minimum English language requirements for this course is Band 7.0.
International applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds will need to provide evidence of sustained working in an English language environment and / or writing in English since completing their nominated degree(s) for consideration by the selection committee.
Delivery Dates and Times An expression of interest list is currently being compiled for this course. Once we have reached our minimum interest, we will look into organising dates.
