Background The University of Melbourne School of Engineering has been involved in the delivery of quality infrared thermography training since 1997. In January 2011 the School became an ITC Licensed Training Centre, authorised to deliver thermography training courses under a licensed training agreement with ITC Sweden. The Infrared Training Centre (ITC) at the University of Melbourne provides high-quality interactive thermography training from qualified international thermography instructors. The ITC offers IR training, certification, and recertification in all aspects of infrared thermography use. Courses are available for both public or privately (by request for companies with 10 or more staff that require on-site training).
Description The Level 1 ITC Thermography course is an introductory course which prepares participants for qualifications as a category 1 certified thermographer.
Who Should Apply The Level 1 ITC course is designed for beginners in thermography with some experience in camera handling and limited IR knowledge, who want to take their first step to become a professional thermographer and want to qualify as a Level 1 certified thermographer.
Entry Requirements Some experience in camera handling and limited IR knowledge. Ability to understand mathematical formulas. Completion of the 3 ITC online modules.
Teaching Team The teaching team is led by Dr. Alan Smith (qualified ITC Level III Instructor), and supported by Erik Thorup (qualified AINDT Cat 3 Instructor) and Colin Burvill (qualified Level I thermographer).
Delivery Mode The training program is delivered over five days (35-40 hours face to face) with 3 online modules to complete prior to course commencement.
