Background These are the first courses to be accredited by the Eye Bank Association of Australia and New Zealand (EBAANZ).
Course Description The Graduate Certificate in Eye Banking and the nested Specialist Certificate in the Fundamentals of Eye Banking are the first courses to be endorsed and accredited by the Eye Bank Association of Australia and New Zealand (EBAANZ).

The Graduate Certificate is a self-paced online course and it is anticipated that most participants will complete it within one year of part-time study.

Who Should Apply Health professionals currently working or considering working in eye banking who requires a formal education of the eye banking sector and knowledge of donor and process management.
Subjects The course consists of 3 core subjects totalling 50 credit points:

1. Fundamentals in Eye Banking 25 credit points

2. Eye Donation for Transplantation 12.5 credit points

3. Principles of Eye Bank Practice 12.5 credit points
Pathways to Further Study Participants are encouraged to complete the Graduate Certificate, however there is a nested exit point after the completion of the first core subject when participants can be awarded a Specialist Certificate in The Fundamentals of Eye Banking.

Entry Requirements A bachelor degree or equivalent in a health or medical sciences discipline and a minimum of 3 years of professional documented work experience in a relevant health or medical science field.
OR
A minimum of 7 years of professional documented work experience in a relevant health or medical science field.
Course Fees

Fees for the Graduate Certificate are $8,800.

Please note that fees are subject to an annual increase.

Fee Inclusions Fees include tuition, course materials and access to on-line resources. As enrolled students of the University of Melbourne, students have access to a range of facilities and amenities provided by the University of Melbourne.
FEE HELP FEE-HELP is a loan from the Australian Government to cover tuition fees and is available to Australian Citizens only
